Happy weekend! The weather is amazing this weekend in Chattanooga. Summer seems to be hanging on for just a few more weeks, extending the paddle board and boating season into October at least. If you are one of the few not heading to the Tennessee- Georgia game this weekend, here are your best bets for fun in Chattanooga.
Open Studio- Chattanooga Workspace
If you have not attended one of these events, you are missing out. I went a few months ago and not only did I see some amazing art by local artists in the gallery, but I also did some shopping, had delicious snacks, watched someone get a tattoo and caught up with some friends I had not seen in ages. If you can’t tell, this is a very fun event. Tonight, the Southeast Chapter of Tennessee Craft will have an exhibit in the gallery celebrating America Craft week. As always, various artists will have their studios open for observing (and for buying), which is an excellent way to see what is going on in the art community in Chattanooga. Check it out! 5:30-8:30. Free to all. 302 W. 6th Street.
Abbey Road Live!
If you are a Beatles fan, you must see the guys of Abbey Road Live! We took our daughter, who is at that age when you discover the Beatles, a few years ago and she got on stage. Tomorrow night’s show is 18 and over, so no kids, but it is John Lennon specific. The band puts on a great show and they sound amazing. Tickets are available at the Revelery box office. 9pm. $15. 41 Station Street.
Rooftop Hop
Usually, it is freezing for the Rooftop Hop. This year, we got lucky! The weather is gorgeous! Looking for something super “Chattanooga” to do this weekend? This is it! Featuring 5 roof tops in Chattanooga, each featuring live music, food and beverages, not to mention awesome views of downtown, this is a progressive party on steroids. Put on by Greenspaces, a non for profit focusing on sustainability in downtown Chattanooga. Details and tickets can be found online.
Sunday Funday
I personally like to chill on Sunday. Maybe grab a hike or trail run, catch up with friends, get brunch and really prepare for the week. If you are looking for a fun (and delicious) brunch, I highly recommend The 5 on the North Shore. Live Jazz, delicious Bloody Mary bar, chicken and waffles… what more could you ask for? Sit outside with your well behaved pup, then take a walk along the river in Renaissance Park. Happy weekend!
