What’s Going On In Chattanooga November 3-5th

This weekend in Chattanooga is a busy one. The Head of the Hooch, one of the largest rowing regattas in the world is held this weekend on the Tennessee River. While it is worth everyone’s time to go down and check out the gorgeous boats and thousands of rowers competing Saturday and Sunday, there are plenty of other fun things to get into this weekend. Here are your best bets.

Party in the Park

If you have not been to the Sculpture Fields at Montague Park, you are missing out. Created to show case some of our city’s collection of works by world famous sculptures and utilizing what was a dead space, this vibrant park has become a location for celebrations, photo ops and reflection with Lookout Mountain in the background of some truly amazing sculptures. Tonight from 8-11 there is a dance party complete with DJ and light show in the park. Tickets include two drinks (the event is 21 and over). Info online. 1800 Polk Street.

Head of the Hooch

We are a little biased here at Chattanooga Property Shop about rowers. We have had  three rowers in our Chattanooga Property Shop family for the past 5 years that have rowed in the regatta and we have loved the Head of the Hooch for even longer than that. This is one of the most fun and beautiful events in Chattanooga. Rowers from all over the world descend on Chattanooga with over 2000 boats to row against the clock (and each other) in the 5k race that starts near the dam and finishes in front of the Tennessee Aquarium and Ross’s Landing. If you want to catch a good view of the races, head down to the Walnut Street Bridge, Ross’s Landing or along the Tennessee River Walk. The pageant is pretty special with the custom oars from each team representing colleges, high schools, clubs and individuals. Rowing starts Saturday at 8 am and finishes around 6:30 picking up again Sunday morning through the afternoon. Info and the history of the race can be found online.

Christmas Open House at the Refindery

If you are one of those people who are excited for Christmas the second Halloween is over, this may be the thing for you. With door prizes, refreshments and deals galore, this event is the perfect way to get your holiday going. The Refindery is an urban market offering vintage and new items including home furnishings, gifts and unique items. Hours are 11-6pm. Saturday.

We hope you have a lovely weekend. The traffic could be tricky, with The Head of the Hooch, but it will be worth it to head out to the trails on Lookout Mountain, Signal Mountain or Enterprise South.  Happy Fall Y’all!
