Brrrr… Puxatony Phil saw his shadow today and that means 6 more weeks of winter. Lucky for Chattanooga and Ringgold citizens, that means high 40’s to low 50’s for the next few weeks. Getting out and about is easy and there are so many fun things to do, both indoors and out. Here are some of your best bets!
Soul of Broadway Songbook Series
Did you miss “The Wiz” at the Theater Centre last fall? No worries, you can catch the talented cast tonight and tomorrow night at The Camp House for the Soul of Broadway Songbook Series. I went last night and I cannot recommend it enough! The band is absolutely fantastic and the singers are truly some of the most talented I have heard in a long time. Check it out. Show time is 7:30. Doors open each night at 7. Tickets are $15 and available here. 149 E. MLK Boulevard.
Open Studio Night
Local artists who have work spaces at the Chattanooga Work Space open their doors and share their art once a month. This month’s open studio night features Girl’s Preparatory School’s AP student’s art portfolio in the open gallery. The second floor features the 3rd Annual Red Show, featuring works for sale ideal for Valentine’s day. Refreshments are available and the event is free! 5:30-8:30 302 W. 6th Street.
Chattanooga Hiking Club
Join the Chattanooga Hiking Club on Saturday as they hike the beautiful Bluff Trail. This trail is the most beautiful in the winter when the leaves are off the trees, so this weekend is a great time to hike it. The Chattanooga Hiking Club meets weekly for guided hikes. Details on Saturday’s hike and info on joining the club can be found online. Hike starts at Ochs Gateway and your space can be reserved by emailing Boe Rudder at boerrudder@gmail.com.
Super Bowl Sunday
Feel like gathering with friends for the Super Bowl, but don’t want to have the party at your house? Head to the Southside Social for their big party. No cover charge, 20 plus televisions, beverage and food specials, plus…it’s the Southside Social! Wear your Eagles or Patriot’s jersey and everytime your team scores, Bud Light drafts are $1.50. What more could you ask for. Sunday 5:30 1818 Chestnut Street.
Have an awesome weekend!
