This week has felt like summer and I for one am happy. I love Chattanooga in the spring and summer, mostly because it is warm and even when it rains, it does not last long. This weekend looks to be a mixed bag, weather wise, but that should not stop us. From the Kentucky Derby to Cinco de Mayo, there are many things to take advantage of going on in town to insure a very fun weekend.
Nightfall Concert Series
It’s back! Chattanooga’s biggest and most popular block party and this year, it promises to be even better! Nightfall Concert Series offers nationally touring musical acts each Friday night for a free concert from May until the end of August. Since 1992, bands such as Dave Matthews, Lucinda Williams, Dr. Dog, Dawes and more have played to one of the most eclectic crowds imaginable. Chattanoogans from all walks of life gather to socialize, show off fashion and dogs, and just enjoy the city. This year, the newly finished Miller Park will offer art exhibits, working craftspeople and family friendly activities. This year’s season opener is Aaron Lee Tasjan from New Albany Ohio. The opening band is at 7, with headliner starting at 8. Free. 850 Market Street Chattanooga, TN 37402
