It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The weeks counting down to Christmas seems to be the most festive time of the year in Chattanooga with all the parties and parades. This weekend there is an almost endless number of fun things to do in the  area. Here are your best bets for fun both grown up and family friendly.

 

Tremont Tavern Birthday Celebration

Tremont, Chattanooga’s favorite burger and beer joint,  is getting another year older, 13 years old, infact. This weekend they area celebrating with two nights of celebrations. Both nights will feature live music from local musicians including Slim Pickins Bluegrass , Jordan Hallquist &  Danimal Planet to name a few. Santa Pub Crawl

The Santa Pub Crawl is a tradition in Chattanooga benefiting the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. Last year more than 2,000 toys and $5,000 benefited the local program.   Beginning at 3 pm and traveling through the Southside and downtown Chattanooga, the event is a fun reason to dress up in your favorite holiday costumes and spread some cheer while enjoying drink specials. 3 pm -1 am. Holiday Lights at the Zoo

We are so lucky to have a sweet little zoo in our city. At Christmas time, the zoo is transformed into a winter wonderland and is a wonderful place to take children. In addition to lights, there are also fun events such as photos with Santa, carolers, cookie decorating, bingo, crafts and more. Friday and Saturday nights until Christmas beginning at 5:30, you can watch animals open their gifts and tour the zoo. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for kids, half of that for members.  301 North Holtzclaw

Pajamas at the Tennessee Aquarium I MAX

If you (or your child) love the movie The Polar Express and hot cocoa, this is the event for you. Geared toward families with smaller children, the PJs and The Polar Express is morning event. Begin winter break in style by dressing in your favorite pajamas and enjoying a special screening of The Polar Express 3D! This is your chance to meet the Conductor, sip hot cocoa, and enjoy pastries at 9:30 am before the movie at 10:00 am.
