Summer is almost over for school children all over the Tennessee Valley and North Georgia. This weekend is the last hurrah for family vacations, school shopping and of course, weekday fun. Open Studio Night
Chattanooga WorkSpace is joining forces with The Chattanooga Zoo for this month’s Studio Nights, from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. This is the 3rd annual pairing up of WorkSpace artists and animals from the Chattanooga Zoo a to create a piece of art inspired by the work the zoo animal itself painted.
There will be a silent auction of the zoo animal inspired pieces 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm during our Open Studio Nights, August 2nd. 50% of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Chattanooga Zoo. This is an an excellent way to meet the local artists and purchase art they have created. 5:30-8:30. Free to attend. 302 W 6th St. Friday

Cloudland Canyon Star Party
The stars at night…are big and bright… deep in the heart of Tennessee/Georgia. I know, I know, it is TEXAS. We have some amazing stars here as well and the Staff and Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park and Barnard Astronomical Society are hosting a star party Saturday. Come see the wonders of the night sky through our telescopes. August is your chance for viewing opportunities of Jupiter and its moons as well as Saturn, star clusters, nebulae and other galaxies. Gospel Brunch
Love Gospel Brunch but hate having to leave town to enjoy? Good news! The Bridgeman’s Chophouse, located in the Gatsby inspired Read House hotel, will be offering Sunday Gospel Brunch! Featuring live music, a fantastic menu including friend chicken and cornmeal pancakes, bananas foster french toast, a “gospel burger”, mimosas and more. This week’s gospel artist is Nancy Westmoreland. Brunch is served from 10-2:30 pm and reservations are encouraged.
