The heat is on! This weekend, the entire southeast is going to be HOT! We say, bring it on! With the hot weather comes cool treats, including paddle boarding on the Tennessee River, ice cream at Clumpies or hanging out and catching the latest show at the IMAX. Chattanooga has so much going on indoors and out that you almost need an extra day to take it all in. Here are your best bets for fun this weekend in Chattanooga.
Annie
Signal Mountain may be few degrees cooler and definitely has a little more spunk, as the Signal Mountain Playhouse presents Annie this weekend and next. This production features local actors and the play house is very cute. Concessions are offered and guests are also invited to bring a picnic and arrive early. Movie in the Park
If you grew up in the era of drive in movies, you will love Movies in the Park. Chattanoogans of all ages are invited to bring a chair or blanket, and snacks to enjoy a free viewing of Incredibles 2 in Coolidge Park this Saturday. The show starts around 9 pm and the park will remain open until immediately after. Grab your friends and live a little nostalgia this Saturday. 150 River Street. Free
Top Tomato Fest at the Chattanooga Market
Ask any southerner what is the best thing about summer and most will tell you, tomatoes. I am a huge fan of ugly tomatoes with a little salt and pepper. This time of year, farmers markets all over the south are bursting with ripe tomatoes of every size, shape and color. Sunday, the Chattanooga Market celebrates all things tomato with the Top Tomato Festival. You can sample Bloody Mary’s, shop for tomatoes and tomato inspired artisan gifts and just enjoy a day in the shade. 11-4 pm. Free to enter $10 for Bloody Mary samples.
We hope you have an amazing weekend in Chattanooga. Stay cool! Check out our open house this Sunday in Ooltewah’s The Retreat at White Oak.
