What Is Going On This Weekend In Chattanooga

We are thrilled that March has finally arrived! March brings lots of good things in Chattanooga, from the jonquils that are blooming everywhere to the beginning of outdoor dining (did you see us outside last weekend, moving around like cats to catch the sun?) This weekend the fun is still indoors (unless you are mountain biking or trail running in the rain) and there is plenty of it to go around. Here are your best bets.

Rock Creek Winter Warehouse Sale

If you are a gear head, this is the sale for you! Everything from footwear to paddle boards is on sale from 40-70% off.  In the past, I have found great deals on jackets, ski pants, running shoes and even a tent. The Rock Creek Riverside outlet is located on Riverside Drive and is open Friday -Sunday this weekend. If you live in Chattanooga,  and enjoy being outdoors, you need to make sure you don’t miss this sale. Friday, 10-7 pm, Saturday 8-7pm, Sunday 12-6 pm.  1530 Riverside Drive.

Boots and Bowties

Looking for a fun event with a conscience? Check out this weekend’s American Cancer Society Boots and Bow Ties event, held at Chattanooga Whiskey and presented by Parkridge Health System! The fun-filled evening will include live music provided by The Dirt Road Liars , dancing, a gourmet spread of hors d’oeuvres provided by Dish T’ Pass,  open bar and a chance to win prizes in the boots and bow tie themed contests. No need to rent a tux, the event’s attire is casual western wear and promises to be a very fun event.  Tickets are still available.  $75 per person.  890 Riverfront Parkway

Road to Nightfall Finals

Nightfall is Chattanooga’s longest running and most fun weekly block party, held all summer long. This weekend, local artists perform and compete for the chance to headline on the coveted stage. Saturday, you can catch the five final bands and vote for the winner. Past winners have included Ryan Oyer, Strung Like A Horse and Nick Lutsko, all local bands who have achieved a boost to their careers from their time on the Nightfall Stage. Event starts at 9 pm. Tickets are $10 and available online.  35  Station Street

Chattanooga Theater Centre Presents Fences

The Chattanooga Theater Centre produces some amazing plays and musicals. This year is the first of their commitment to produce an August Wilson play each year, and they start with one of his better know. Fences, the story of former Negro baseball league star, Troy and his relationship with his son, who has a better chance of progressing farther in his career. The run ends this weekend, so grab your chance to see this Pulitzer Prize winning play.  Tickets are available  for tonight’s show online and are $25.  8PM  400 River Street

Whether you are looking for live music, a fun party or just want to get out of the house, we hope you have an amazing weekend! Stay dry!
